USA conducts airstrikes in syria in response to deadly uav attack. A U.S. contractor was killed, and five U.S. service members and one additional U.S. contractor were wounded in a drone attack in northeast Syria.
Today, a drone without a person inside hit a building where soldiers and workers were working in northeast Syria. One American worker died, and five American soldiers and one more American worker were hurt. The people who know about these things think the drone came from Iran.
The United States government decided to attack some buildings in eastern Syria that are used by groups that work with Iran’s military. The President of the United States gave permission to do this. They did this because of the attack today and other attacks in the past against American soldiers and workers in Syria.
The United States government did these attacks to protect their people. They tried hard to make sure that the attacks wouldn’t make things worse or hurt too many people.
The Secretary of Defense said that the President of the United States will do whatever is necessary to keep American people safe. They will respond when and where they think is best. The Secretary of Defense also said that they feel sorry for the family of the person who died and the people who were hurt.
Two of the people who were hurt got help at the place where they were attacked. The other three people and the American worker who died were taken to a hospital in Iraq that helps people who work with the United States.
